UNITY Tattoo & Art Studio Introduce

For individuals in Jamestown, New York, and the surrounding areas searching for "Tattoo Shops Near Me," UNITY Tattoo & Art Studio, located at 1690 Foote Ave, Jamestown, NY 14701, USA, presents a complex picture based on the available customer reviews. While one reviewer praises the artistry and the unique atmosphere of the studio, others express significant concerns regarding the shop's cleanliness and professionalism.

One customer described the studio as a place where "the artists there put their hearts into their work and create a wonderful art and oddity filled space." This reviewer specifically highlighted the talent of Braeden Van Ord, stating they had received two tattoos from him and noted that a wait might be expected due to the number of requests he receives. This suggests that at least one artist at UNITY Tattoo & Art Studio is perceived as skilled and capable of creating appealing artwork.

However, a starkly contrasting experience was reported by another potential customer who ultimately did not get tattooed at the studio. This individual detailed a series of unprofessional interactions, including multiple postponements of the initial consultation and the tattoo appointment itself, accompanied by what they described as "lengthy excuses." Upon visiting the studio, their first impression was that the place was "rather messy and musty," though they initially attributed this to ongoing remodeling and proceeded to schedule their appointment.

The experience on the day of the scheduled appointment was even more negative. The artist reportedly contacted the customer multiple times to push back the appointment time. Upon finally arriving at the studio at the scheduled time, the customer allegedly had to wait in the parking lot because the shop was not open as stated. When the artist finally arrived, the greeting was described as minimal, and the customer was directed to wait in the "lobby."

The description of the lobby paints a concerning picture of the studio's environment. The customer reported a strong odor of cat and a general musty smell. Upon observation, they noted cat food spilled, along with dust and hair accumulation. The seating provided was a "saggy futon." This individual ultimately decided against getting tattooed, citing the extremely unsanitary and highly unprofessional conditions, stating they would give the studio zero stars if possible. They also provided a description of the "lovely 'lobby'" with a spill that appeared to have never been cleaned.

Adding to these concerns, the customer who initially praised the artistry of Braeden Van Ord later provided an edit to their review, detailing significant issues encountered after their initial commissioned artwork. They reported being unable to schedule a touch-up with Braeden Van Ord or to redeem gift certificates they had. Furthermore, they stated that on subsequent visits to the shop after their initial appointment, it was consistently "dirty and smelled of cat urine." As a result of these ongoing issues, this customer stated they would not be returning to the business and were pursuing a refund through small claims court.

Based on these reviews, the environment of UNITY Tattoo & Art Studio appears to be a significant point of contention. While one reviewer initially described it as an "art and oddity filled space," the more detailed accounts highlight issues with cleanliness, including unpleasant odors, spills, dust, and pet-related mess. This inconsistency in the description of the environment suggests that the conditions may vary or that different individuals have varying tolerances or perspectives on what constitutes a clean and inviting space, especially in a body art studio where hygiene is critical.

The services offered at UNITY Tattoo & Art Studio primarily include tattooing, with Braeden Van Ord being specifically mentioned as an artist. The initial positive review suggests a talent for creating "wonderful art." However, the subsequent inability of the same customer to schedule a touch-up raises concerns about the reliability and follow-through of their services. The mention of gift certificates also indicates that this was a feature offered by the studio, although their redemption appears to have become problematic for at least one customer.

In terms of features, UNITY Tattoo & Art Studio seems to present itself as a unique space with an "art and oddity filled" aesthetic, which may appeal to some individuals seeking a less conventional studio atmosphere. However, this description is directly contradicted by the other reviewer's account of a messy and unsanitary environment. The talent of at least one artist, Braeden Van Ord, could be considered a feature, although the issues with scheduling and aftercare services detract from this positive aspect.

There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. The conflicting accounts and the serious allegations of unsanitary conditions and unprofessional behavior would likely deter potential customers rather than attract them through promotions. The negative experiences shared by multiple reviewers outweigh the initial positive feedback regarding artistic talent, painting a concerning picture of the overall customer experience at UNITY Tattoo & Art Studio.

For local users in Jamestown, NY, searching for "Tattoo Shops Near Me," it is crucial to consider the full spectrum of feedback regarding UNITY Tattoo & Art Studio. While there is an indication of artistic talent, there are also significant and concerning reports of unprofessional behavior, poor communication, and unsanitary conditions. Potential clients should weigh these factors carefully before deciding to patronize this establishment. The discrepancies in the reviews suggest that individual experiences may vary, but the serious nature of the negative feedback, particularly concerning cleanliness and customer service, warrants careful consideration and potentially further investigation before making an informed decision.

I didn't even end up getting a tattoo because my experience here was so horrible.. I should have heeded the warning of some of the previous reviews but went into this experience anyway. The first time I was supposed to meet the artist started pushing back the time to meet, giving me excuse after excuse yet I came anyway to discuss my tattoo design. My first impression was the place was rather messy and musty but was told they were remodeling so I thought nothing of it and scheduled my tattoo anyway. The day of my appointment a month later, the artist messaged me asking :what time was I coming again?" And then asked to push it back an hour, to which I said was fine. Afterwards I was told we may be running even later, with yet another lengthy excuse. I finally stood my ground and said if we don't do this appointment the next day, I want my $100 deposit back. The next day comes and I get no postponement luckily, however end up sitting in the parking lot waiting for the place to open because apparently even though they said open at 4:30, they were closed. The artist finally came down and barely greeted me, just began walking back and told me to wait back "in the lobby." I was immediately hit with a whiff of cat and God knows whatever musty smell, and upon looking around saw cat food spilled everywhere, dust and hair. I was pointed to a saggy futon to sit and wait on and didn't know what the artist was even doing in the back. Needless to say I did not get tattooed after all. I went straight to my car and drove away, leaving the artist a message that I changed my mind. This place was extremely unsanitary and highly unprofessional, I'd give it 0 stars if I could. BTW here's the lovely "lobby" I had to sit in, plus a random spill never cleaned.

The artists there put their hearts into their work and create a wonderful art and oddity filled space. I have had 2 tattoos done by Braeden Van Ord. Expect a wait based on how many requests he gets. Edit: Since the time of my initial commissioned artwork, I have never been able to schedule a touch up with Braeden Van Ord or the ability to use my gift certificates. Also anytime after my initial appointment when visiting the shop; it was dirty and smelled of cat urine. There are multiple reasons why I will not be going back to this business. I am currently in the process of going to small claims to get a refund.

Constant appointment changes, time wasted, never prepared for the appointment. I am a patient person but had to move to a new shop and a new artist to complete my work. Probably best to steer clear of this place. Note that many of the good reviews are for artists no longer here.

LOVE this place! Went to get my nose pierced and they were amazing! Barely had to wait and it took no more than 10 minutes. They also make you feel very comfortable and the place gives off amazing vibes. Found my new piercing/ tattoo place!

I showed up at 3 o’clock like the Facebook said they opened a lady in a bus walked past us numerous times never said a word to us just glared at us. Finally I had to roll my window down and be like what time do you open and she said 430 usually you can check the Facebook that’s where I found the information it was supposed to already be open however she was super rude and I asked if they did piercings she said no their entire front window to the left is piercings walk-ins welcome. I told her she should remove the sign. She said it’s not her sign very rudely and it’s not her business very rudely so since she just the lady that lives in the bus, maybe the owner should do a little better about making sure the schedule is mean and how is employees talk to people and about him
