True To You Tattoo Introduce

For local users in Taiwan researching "Tattoo Shops Near Me" and encountering information about True To You Tattoo in Lafayette, Indiana, USA, this introduction aims to provide a detailed and objective overview based on available customer reviews. Located at 658 Main St Suite 217, Lafayette, IN 47901, the studio can be contacted at (765) 237-9142 or +1 765-237-9142. It's important to note that the reviews present contrasting experiences, offering a balanced perspective for potential clients.

One customer recounts a significantly negative experience with an artist at True To You Tattoo, identified as the artist who was supposed to work on a birthday tattoo over an eight-month period. This client expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the final result, stating that the tattoo was "no where near what I wanted." Furthermore, attempts to professionally address these concerns with the artist were reportedly met with an initial response followed by being ignored. The negative experience extended to the healing process, with the client mentioning a "nasty blister that left a scar." Additional issues raised include a significant discrepancy in the quoted price and being asked to wait in the lobby without witnessing the opening of new needles, which raised hygiene concerns for the reviewer. The client explicitly stated regretting not walking out and labeled the overall experience as a "bad idea."

The same reviewer provided insight into the communication, stating that the artist's only response claimed the design was agreed upon beforehand. However, the client clarified that they had only seen the stencil and, lacking professional expertise, were unsure if a stencil was even necessary for the type of tattoo they were getting (described as a "black out tattoo the turns into dead branches"). This suggests a potential miscommunication or lack of thorough pre-tattoo consultation regarding the design and process.

An update from this dissatisfied customer indicates an attempt to reach out to the owner of True To You Tattoo. The outcome was reportedly two text messages followed by being ignored, further solidifying the client's negative perception of the studio's professionalism and customer service. The client concluded by stating they would not be returning.

In stark contrast to the negative experience described above, another customer offers a highly positive review specifically about an artist named John at True To You Tattoo (referred to as TTYT). This reviewer describes John as "the real deal" and details an "amazing" experience of getting an entire sleeve tattoo (from wrist to shoulder) done by him. Several key aspects of John's work and demeanor are highlighted. Firstly, he is described as a "genuinely nice guy who’s easy to be around," indicating a positive and comfortable client-artist relationship.

Secondly, John's artistic abilities are strongly praised, with the reviewer stating he "can DRAW like a beast" and is an "actual artist," emphasizing his creative skills beyond just technical tattooing. Thirdly, his technical tattoo work is lauded as "top notch," with specific mention of "dark and solid" outlines and shading that "heals deep and true." The reviewer also subjectively noted that John's tattoos seemed to hurt less both during the process and while healing.

A particularly impressive aspect of John's work, according to the review, is his ability to freehand draw directly on the arm. The client mentions that half of their sleeve was done this way and that these freehand elements ended up being their "favorite parts and elements." This showcases John's confidence, skill, and adaptability in creating unique and personalized tattoos directly on the client's body.

The reviewer concludes by enthusiastically recommending reaching out to John to see if his style and vibe are a good match, indicating a strong personal satisfaction with his work and approach.

Based on these contrasting customer reviews, the services and features of True To You Tattoo can be summarized as:

  • Tattoo Services: The studio offers tattooing by at least two artists, Jarod and John.
  • Varying Artist Skill and Professionalism: Experiences with different artists appear to differ significantly. John is praised for his artistic skill, technical ability, professionalism, and client rapport. Conversely, another artist (implied to be Jarod based on the dissatisfied review's content) is criticized for the final tattoo outcome, communication, professionalism, and hygiene practices.
  • Custom Designs: Both artists seem to handle custom work, but the process and outcome appear inconsistent based on the reviews. John's freehand ability suggests a high degree of customization.
  • Cleanliness (Conflicting Reports): One negative review raised concerns about not seeing new needles being opened, while the positive review does not comment on cleanliness. Therefore, an objective assessment of the overall cleanliness cannot be definitively made based on this information alone.

The environment of True To You Tattoo, based on the reviews, presents a mixed picture:

  • Potentially Unprofessional Interactions: The negative review highlights instances of being ignored and a lack of professional communication.
  • Potentially Comfortable with the Right Artist: The positive review emphasizes John's friendly and easy-to-be-around demeanor, suggesting a comfortable experience when working with him.
  • Waiting Area: The negative review mentions being asked to wait in the lobby while the artist set up.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided text. The reviews focus solely on past customer experiences.

For local users in Taiwan considering "Tattoo Shops Near Me" in Lafayette, Indiana, and encountering True To You Tattoo, it is crucial to acknowledge the significantly different experiences reported by customers. While one artist, John, receives high praise for his artistic skill, technical ability, professionalism, and client rapport, another artist (implied to be Jarod) is the subject of serious complaints regarding the quality of work, communication, professionalism, and potential hygiene concerns. The differing experiences suggest that the choice of artist at True To You Tattoo may be the most critical factor in determining client satisfaction.

Potential clients considering True To You Tattoo should carefully weigh these contrasting reviews. If interested in the services of John, the positive feedback indicates a high likelihood of a satisfactory experience. However, the negative review serves as a significant warning regarding the potential for poor quality work, unprofessional conduct, and hygiene concerns with at least one other artist at the studio. It would be prudent for prospective clients to specifically request John or to seek further information and potentially a portfolio from any other artist they might consider at this location to ensure their expectations and standards are met.

In conclusion, True To You Tattoo in Lafayette, Indiana, presents a complex picture based on the available customer reviews. While artist John is highly recommended for his skill and professionalism, negative experiences with another artist raise significant concerns. Potential clients should proceed with caution, carefully consider which artist they choose, and potentially seek further information before committing to services at this studio.

Not happy with my experience at all. Wanted a tattoo for my birthday. Artist had about 8 months to work on it. Left there with my tattoo no where near what I wanted. Tried to reach out to the artist to express my concerns and figure something out professionally, got one response and then ignored. Not happy with how my tattoo healed, got a nasty blister that left a scar, quote was very far off, and I was told to wait in the lobby while he set up. I didn’t even see him open the needles! I should have walked out, but I was so excited on my birthday that I was blinded to the bad idea. The only response I got he essentially said I agreed to the design beforehand. All I saw was the stencil, I’m not a professional, but I wasn’t sure if you needed a stencil for a black out tattoo the turns into dead branches. If Jarod or the owner is reading this, I am a reasonable guy and we can even still professionally work something out. UPDATE - reached out to owner. Got two text back then ignored. Unprofessional to the maximum. Will not be returning here.

John at TTYT is the real deal. He has done an entire sleeve from wrist to shoulder for me and the entire experience has been amazing. not only is he just a genuinely nice guy who’s easy to be around, he can DRAW like a beast, he is an actual artist, and his technical tattoo work is top notch. His outlines are dark and solid, his shading heals deep and true, and I know this is subjective, but his tattoos just hurt less (both when getting them and while healing). Half of my sleeve he freehand drew right on my arm, and those have all needed up being my favorite parts and elements. Don’t hesitate to reach out to him and see if his style and vibe is a good match for you 🤘🏻

The best tattoo artist and shop in town. I have gone back for three separate tattoos. The shop is always clean. John is always professional and is great at working with clients on designs.

Best artist in town. John is always respectful of your time and takes his work very seriously. Knocks it out of the park every time with his ability and creativity. The only artist I’ll go to!
