Syndicate Tattoos & Piercings Introduce

For local users in search of tattoo and piercing services within the "Tattoo Shops Near Me" category, Syndicate Tattoos & Piercings, located at 126 N Walnut St in Colfax, Iowa, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While one reviewer expresses positive sentiment, another details a significantly negative experience regarding appointment handling and communication. Therefore, an objective introduction requires a balanced presentation of these contrasting viewpoints to provide potential clients with a comprehensive understanding.

Information regarding the environment of Syndicate Tattoos & Piercings is limited in the provided reviews. The negative review focuses primarily on the artist's punctuality and communication, rather than the physical space of the studio itself. The positive, albeit brief, review does not offer any descriptive details about the shop's atmosphere or cleanliness. Consequently, it is not possible to provide a detailed objective description of the studio's environment based solely on the available information.

The services offered at Syndicate Tattoos & Piercings include both tattooing and piercing, as indicated by the studio's name and the mention of an eyebrow piercing being scheduled. The positive review mentions that "Jake & Kortney are amazing," suggesting that both artists offer tattoo services and likely possess different artistic styles or specialties. The negative review was from a client seeking a memorial tattoo by Kortney, indicating that custom tattoo work is also offered. However, the issues encountered with the appointment process raise concerns about the reliability and scheduling of these services.

Kortney is identified as one of the artists at Syndicate Tattoos & Piercings. While one reviewer states that Kortney was a preferred artist of a close friend and expresses initial support by traveling over an hour for an appointment, the actual experience was highly negative. The client arrived on time for a scheduled 4 pm appointment but was made to wait for 50 minutes without any direct communication from Kortney. It was revealed that Kortney had scheduled an eyebrow piercing for another client during the time of the existing tattoo appointment. This lack of transparency and the significant delay without explanation led to the client leaving the studio without receiving the service. The client, a professional body piercer themselves, highlighted the importance of communication and respect for clients' time within the industry, emphasizing the unprofessionalism of the situation.

The negative experience was compounded by the subsequent response from the studio after the review was posted. The studio stated that it operates as a "flash shop" accepting walk-ins only, which contradicts the initial agreement on a specific appointment time. The explanation offered included a personal apology citing a busy personal life and a $40 discount for a future service, which the client felt was only offered due to the public review. Ultimately, the disappointed client chose to get their memorial tattoo at another studio.

In contrast to the negative experience, the second, much briefer review simply states, "Syndicate tattoo is one of my favorite places to go in des Moines! Jake & Kortney are amazing!" This positive feedback suggests that some clients have had satisfactory experiences at the studio and with both Jake and Kortney's work. However, the stark contrast with the detailed negative review indicates a potential inconsistency in service quality or appointment management.

The features of Syndicate Tattoos & Piercings are somewhat ambiguous based on the conflicting reviews. The presence of two artists, Kortney and Jake, suggests a potential range of artistic styles. The studio's apparent operation as a "flash shop" might appeal to clients seeking spontaneous, walk-in services, but it also raises questions about the reliability of scheduled appointments. The lack of consistent communication and the issues with appointment scheduling, as detailed in one review, are significant concerns. Conversely, the positive review highlights the talent of both artists, suggesting that when services are rendered smoothly, clients are satisfied.

Currently, there is no information provided regarding specific promotional offers or discounts at Syndicate Tattoos & Piercings. Potential local users considering this studio based on the "Tattoo Shops Near Me" category should carefully consider the contrasting customer experiences. The positive review indicates the potential for quality work from both Kortney and Jake, while the detailed negative review raises serious concerns about appointment handling, communication, and professionalism. It would be prudent for prospective clients to inquire directly about the studio's appointment policies and potentially view portfolios of both artists before making a decision.

In conclusion, Syndicate Tattoos & Piercings in Colfax, Iowa, presents a complex picture for potential clients. While one reviewer had a severely negative experience marked by poor communication and disregarded appointment times, another expresses strong satisfaction with both Kortney and Jake. The studio's assertion as a "flash shop" after the fact adds further uncertainty regarding their scheduling practices. Local users browsing "Tattoo Shops Near Me" should weigh these contrasting accounts carefully and consider contacting the studio directly to clarify their appointment policies and view artist portfolios before deciding to book a service. The lack of information about the studio's environment and the conflicting reports on service quality make it challenging to offer a definitive recommendation.

Kortney was the artist my very close friend would go to. He recently passed away. Because of this, I chose to get a tattoo in memory of him by her. I traveled over an hour to support this artist and am very disappointed in my visit to Syndicate Tattoo. I arrived at the tattoo shop at 350pm for a 4pm. appointment with Kortney. A tattoo artist greeted me, and I told him I had an appointment with Kortney. He said she would be out soon and directed me to a seat. I sat in the lobby for 30 mins when two people came in. The tattoo artist greets them, then says that Kortney has an eyebrow piercing before my appointment. After sitting there for a total of 50 minutes and not being addressed by my tattoo artist, I decided to stand up and tell the previously mentioned artist that I was going to go now. He asked if I peeked back there, knowing that I didn't being in such close proximity of each other, and I replied, I didn't know I was supposed to, she can message me. And left the building. I am a professional body piercer of 4 years and working in this industry, am completely aware things happen. Clients change their mind on size, location, color and sometimes entire design. These are all understandable, as long as the artist is transparent and communicates with the next client. Unfortunately, there was no communication between Kortney and I. In fact, I didn't even see her, once. Lets say she had just finished with her current client, decontaminated, collected from them, and started setting up for my tattoo, printed out my design and made a stencil, it would have been atleast 1.5 hours past my scheduled appointment time. AND she would have had to stop at some point to pierce the client who was waiting to get their Eyebrow pierced. Which means she scheduled an appointment during the time i was scheduled for. I find this to be disrespectful and unprofessional. Communicate with your clients and respect their time. My appointment was June 27th at 4pm. I waited a few days to post this, in hopes I would get a message apologizing, but I have yet to hear anything at the time of posting this. Just adds to the disappointment. Updated to add response: I did receive a response a few days after I posted this review. I was told this is a "flash shop," so they accept walk-ins only. With that new information, I am uncertain why we agreed on a time in the beginning. She told me that if I walked back to where she was, she would have made my tattoo a priority over the eyebrow piercing. As I stated in my original review, it is not my job as a client to navigate a shop I have never been to before and find my tattoo artist. I was offered a $40 discount and an apology that consisted of an explanation of how busy her personal life had been. I got the impression that if I had not made this public review, I would not have received a response. Ultimately, I chose to get my tattoo by the very talented artists at Warrior Tattoo Studio in Waukee.

I have gotten tattooed at both the old location (in Altoona) and the new location (in Colfax) and I don't have a single negative thing to say about them. They all professional, personable, fantastic artists. They perfected placement, and design of every single piece they worked on. They were more than flexible with my availability and that makes getting anything done a total breeze! I would recommend them to anyone, for any type of ink wor. Black and grey or colored! Every artist there is top notch!!!

Walked in and one of the artists accused my friend of being 12 years old with visible tattoos on her. Very judgmental! Caused me to go into another tattoo shop with kinder service.
