Sling'n Ink Introduce

For individuals in the Collinsville, Illinois area seeking body art services, Sling'n Ink, located at 107 E Main St, is presented as a local option within the "Tattoo Shops Near Me" category. The available information includes the studio's name, address, and contact details, along with contrasting customer reviews that offer insights into the potential experiences at this establishment. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Sling'n Ink based on the feedback available.

Regarding the environment of Sling'n Ink, one reviewer explicitly stated that it is "lacking." While this is a subjective assessment, it suggests that potential clients may wish to inquire further about the studio's atmosphere and overall cleanliness before booking an appointment. A comfortable and hygienic environment is crucial in the tattoo industry to ensure a positive and safe experience for clients. It is advisable for prospective customers to visit the studio if possible or ask for more details about their setup and hygiene protocols.

In terms of services offered at Sling'n Ink, one positive review mentions that the shop has "different artists to fit all your tattoo wants and needs." This suggests that Sling'n Ink likely employs multiple tattoo artists with varying styles and specializations, potentially catering to a wide range of tattoo preferences. This could be a significant advantage for clients who have specific artistic styles in mind. The fact that one artist, Sam, has completed over 70 tattoos for a single client over five years indicates a level of trust and satisfaction for that particular artist's work. However, another review details a negative experience with a "simple flower" tattoo received during a Friday the 13th special, suggesting that the quality of work might vary, possibly depending on the artist or the price point of the tattoo.

The features of Sling'n Ink appear to include a diverse team of artists, as highlighted in one of the positive reviews. This variety could allow clients to find an artist whose style aligns with their vision. The mention of a Friday the 13th special offering a $20 tattoo indicates that the studio may occasionally run promotions or special events. However, the negative outcome of this particular experience, where the tattoo was described as "bad" and exhibiting signs of poor healing and ink application, raises concerns about the consistency of quality across all services or artists. The reviewer also mentioned that their online work "seemed to be good," suggesting a potential discrepancy between advertised quality and the actual outcome in some instances.

The contrasting reviews provide a mixed perspective on the customer service at Sling'n Ink. The client who has received numerous tattoos from Sam expresses a high level of satisfaction and recommends the shop. However, the client with the negative experience explicitly stated that "the environment and customer service is also lacking." This is a significant point of concern for potential clients, as positive customer service contributes greatly to a satisfactory overall experience, especially when dealing with a permanent body modification. It would be prudent for individuals considering Sling'n Ink to inquire about their customer service policies and expectations.

Regarding promotional information, the only specific detail mentioned is the Friday the 13th tattoo special priced at $20. While this might seem appealing due to its affordability, the negative experience associated with it serves as a cautionary tale. No other promotional offers, discounts, or consultation processes are mentioned in the provided reviews. It is advisable for potential clients to contact Sling'n Ink directly to inquire about any current promotions or the availability of consultations to discuss their tattoo ideas and pricing.

In conclusion, Sling'n Ink in Collinsville, IL, as a listing within the "Tattoo Shops Near Me" category, appears to offer services from multiple tattoo artists, potentially catering to diverse styles. While one long-term client speaks highly of an artist named Sam, another client reported a negative experience with a promotional tattoo, also citing issues with the environment and customer service. Prospective clients should carefully consider these contrasting reviews. It is strongly recommended to contact Sling'n Ink directly at (618) 512-7723 or +1 618-512-7723 to ask specific questions about their artists' portfolios, studio environment, hygiene practices, customer service approach, and any current promotions to make an informed decision about their body art needs.

Sam is great, she's done over 70 of my tattoos in the past 5 years. I would recommend this shop to anyone. They have different artists to fit all your tattoo wants and needs.

Had a Friday the 13th tattoo done, just a simple flower for only $20. Should have known it would have been bad considering the low price, but their work online seemed to be good. It’s nearly a week after I got the tattoo and it is looking bad. I’ve gotten tattoos in the past so I know how to take care of them, but this one is irritated and looking horrible. I’m in the peeling process so it looks rough, but under the scab it is just a wound, no ink. There is a photo showing where there is no ink, and essentially just a hole. Would not recommend coming here, not only are the tattoos bad but the environment and customer service is also lacking.

Lulu tattooed me multiple times and I love every tattoo I got. Definitely go to her for black tattoos with shading. Fantastic work. The owner is also pretty cool.

For the Friday the 13th, my friends and I had Lysha do our tattoos. While the price of the tattoo and experience with my girls were fun, I’ve never left a tattoo parlor feeling so unsatisfied. When we walked in we were glanced at and waited for probably 10 minutes before being handed the waiver for our tattoos. It would’ve been fine considering they had 2 people ahead of us , but half of their artists stood talking in a group on their phones. Despite us asking for the same artist for comfort reasons, she tried pawning us off to other artists, and honestly we should’ve. my friend came back days later to have her lines thickened to match the stencil, since the first time the lines were way thin (her review is also on here). Lysha tattooed over her now scabbing tattoo leaving my friend in more pain and her tattoo a mess. We were also given no prep before or aftercare instructions. To add, it looked exactly the same and now scarred. We’ve all had multiple tattoos and are fully aware of the healing process, but are upset with how our tattoos came out and the entire process of this studio. Super disappointed. Left pictures of our tattoos after they’ve healed.

Online they had posted that there was no wait, so my friends and I went in for their Friday the 13th deal. We waited 20+ minutes while three chairs sat empty and the artists were talking and playing on their phones and taking a smoke break. When it was my turn, my artist Lysha did not prep my skin, shave, or sanitize the chair more than a spray or two. She then tattooed me, and made the design fine line when it was supposed to be bold and more traditional, like the stencil was. Even with the fine line, some bits were uneven. She had even confirmed with me that the lines were going to be thick. After she did my friends tattoos, I asked her if we could make mine a little bolder and thicker like theirs, and she told me to come back in a few days (no biggie!). I went back a few days later to have her thicken it, and it looks the same. Now, it’s just super red and irritated because she tattooed over the now-scabby tattoo. Eleven hours later, my tiny linework tattoo is red and swollen, and it hurts to move my arm. I have 15 other tattoos and none have felt like this. My friends are happy with theirs, it was just a very off putting experience.
