    Horrible experience. My boyfriend and I went to this store 1/11/25 in the evening to check out the jewelry. We were completely disgusted with how one of the employees treated us. At first, it was fine. An employee handed us a basket and told us that mall security was watching the store through the cameras. We didn't think anything of it because that information didn't pertain to us. Then, at one point, she approached us again and told my boyfriend to put back what he had taken. My boyfriend's hands were full, he was holding our shopping bags from other stores and my jacket. He couldn't have grabbed anything. I was the only one who had been touching anything. So now, my boyfriend and I feel extremely profiled and targeted. We keep shopping for few more minutes because I really wanted to find a cheap pair of earrings, but the employee kept bothering us. She kept following us around and staring at us. Finally she came up to us again and told us that if we leave, mall security would follow us, detain us, and recover the stolen merchandise. We hadn't taken anything. All the jewelry I had picked up went right back on the shelf. She clearly would have seen that from watching us the entire time we were in the store. We leave, not wanting to deal with that blatantly racist woman any more, and she smiles at us and says "I hope they don't follow you." That woman is extremely rude and insulting, and clearly gets off on making innocent customers uncomfortable. I'm honestly surprised this store is still in business. We're not the only ones to experience this.

    Me and my sisters were completely insulted by the cashier. She explained to every customer that they are taking extra security measures. That is understandable. She told every guest in the store that they would be followed by security, their merchandise recovered and the shoplifter prosecuted. She basically accused every customer in the store of theft. As I was purchasing my items she told me that my brothers (who were waiting for me at the entrance of the store) needed to put back the items that they had stolen. I told her that she was being insulting and she actually tried to explain herself. Unbelievable.

    I wish I could give this store a 0 star rating. I went here on 12/14/24 at around 2:00pm with my family. My family was actively shopping while I was holding our shopping bags from previous stores. While they were looking at the ring selection, I noticed a woman standing uncomfortably close to us. It was clear she was getting suspicious of us, so we ensured we came off as approachable and polite. The worker handed us a basket, we replied with a “thank you,” then placed our selected items into the basket. A few minutes later, the worker asked: “are you guys planning to buy the things you keep putting in your pockets?” Dumbfounded, we asked her to repeat her question. Once she repeated what she said, we were all socked to be accused of STEALING. Remember, my hands were full of bags from previous stores and never in my pockets. After this interaction, me and my family were so uncomfortable, we left the store. We did not even purchase the items we were looking forward to buying. I have never felt the need to write a review, but this incident seemed too significant to be ignored. I will be informing my friends and family about this incident. I advise you to not shop there as well. I will forever feel uneasy when putting my hands in my pockets.

    I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Lovisa store on Level 1 of the Mall of America on 1/18/25. My friend and I went in to look at belly rings and were greeted by the employee on duty. We told her we were just browsing, and she acknowledged this and went back to stocking jewelry. As we looked around, the employee stayed uncomfortably close to us and stared at our every move, making us feel very uneasy. Out of nowhere, she muttered under her breath, “I’m going to ask you guys to leave. Have a great day.” At first, we didn’t hear her clearly, so I asked her to repeat herself, and she confirmed that we had to leave. While her tone was polite, this interaction was entirely unwarranted and left us feeling confused. After the incident, I checked the store’s reviews and realized that this wasn’t an isolated experience. This behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the Lovisa brand. I hope the company takes action to ensure customers are treated with respect in the future.

    I cannot believe the sheer audacity of the employees working here. I have previously gotten a piercing here and it went fine, however I visited today and was ushered out due to being accused of stealing, the racism I experienced is awful. I was threatened with having mall cops being called on me after simply walking around for two minutes, I also saw the same thing happen to another black girl which is just abhorrent. Minnesota is known for being nice and welcoming, however this disgusting behavior is wild and if the store would like to remain in the 1960's I recommend they say so at the door!
