You gotta go to this shop! I saw Kelsey and my tattoo is so phenomenal and beautiful. Kelsey checked in with me throughout the entire session to make sure that I was comfortable. She’s super talented and is so sweet too. The shop is clean, spacious and easy to find. Also wanna shout out to Angelica (sp?) who runs the front desk. She made booking so easy and was so friendly helpful. 10000000/10.

Chris and whoever was emailing me were both great. Super easy to make an appointment with the contact sheet on the website, Chris did exactly what I asked for and was super professional and personable through the whole appointment. I made a small request for more detail towards the end of the tattoo and he happily obliged and made it look that much better. He was also very knowledgable on after care and gave great advice I hadn’t heard for the other tats I’ve gotten. Shop also looks cool with a great vibe. I would go back for another.

I enjoyed my experience at Eye Heart and will very likely be returning! I was inked by Trent on April, 2nd, 2025. This was my second tattoo, an inner left forearm piece (a Sigil of Lucifer with an additional horned crescent shape signifying Venus or Morning Star) done in an etched-in stone type style with the piece itself oppositional to my first tattoo, a different piece on my opposing arm which I had done at a different location by a different artists 2 months prior. The lead-up to and actual experience was quite streamlined. I did my consultation online through the booking form on their website on March 25th (I live about 1.5 hours away and am often at work, so this was a great option for me time wise), and I received a follow-up the next day. After some back and forth concerning reference imagery, my availability, and securing a deposit for the appt time (which was fairly fast, though I didn't specify a preferred artist for this piece), I secured my April 2nd appt time. Eye Heart Tattoo itself is located in downtown Raleigh, but there's plenty of parking nearby. We (my partner tagged along) just parked in the large multi-story public parking garage at 300-322 W Davie St for a small fee, and walked a short distance (next block over, but there are closer options). The location itself is rather spacious with nice seating for those waiting for appointments, and everyone seems super low-key, laid back, and very friendly. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, this place has the vibe! [Addendum: On a side note that I don't usually go out of the way to point out, but will in this case, I am transgender. If you are trans and curious whether they stand to the statement "Expect to be treated with respect regardless of age, ability, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, or nationality." listed on their websites section titled "Client Expectations", I can say that in my experience, that was the case. I felt I received the same respect anyone else would.] The locale is well decorated, lots of neat eye-candy to take in whilst waiting. We arrived a little early which worked out as there was paperwork to fill out. Trent introduced himself, and I worked on the paperwork while he got ready. We made a small alteration to the design stencil he had prepared, and then once ready Trent got to work. Music is played inside but kept at a moderately low volume. While I enjoyed what I heard (I enjoy most genres), I appreciated it as I enjoy listening to my own earbuds/music when getting inked (I'm an industrial/death/gothic metal baby and enjoy listening to such) and it sucks when your music is clashing with the location's. The piece took about an hour (I'm estimating) and we had a 2 hour window for the deposit. I did not get a price estimate prior to my appointment (however I didn't ask for one either), but it was around what I guessed it would be $250 ($150 of it day of given the $100 deposit), $300 in total with the tip. At the end of the day I really enjoyed my experience overall with Eye Heart Tattoo, and will definitely be returning for some future work! I'd highly recommend this location for anyone looking to get their next tattoo, or even for a first timer! I do want to give some constructive criticism for how I feel this already excellent experience could be improved upon however: Currently this parlor only accepts Venmo or Cash (they do have an on-site ATM) for deposits and payments. Cash was not a good option for me being a couple hours away from the location (for making the deposit), and Venmo seemed to refuse to accept my debit card (not sure if my bank was blocking it or something), but fortunately my partner's worked. Accepting cashapp would be nice, or listing these as your only options on the website upfront would help people prepare when booking. I figured this out on March 31st with my appt. on April 2nd. So running into the Venmo issue (which I had never used before) was unfortunate.

Had an amazing experience for my first ever tattoo. The shop is clean, the staff and artists are welcoming. Marco, specifically, was so great! He did beautiful work and helped me make it through some early light headedness. I’ll definitely be back!
