Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU Introduce

For local users seeking body art services, particularly within the "Tattoo Shops Near Me" category, Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU, located at 3805 Market St, Camp Hill, PA 17011, USA, offers a combination of tattoo and permanent makeup (PMU) services. The available customer reviews present a somewhat mixed picture, with strong positive feedback regarding the PMU services and a significant negative experience detailed concerning a tattoo. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on these accounts.

When looking for "Tattoo Shops Near Me," potential clients often consider the cleanliness of the establishment, the professionalism of the artists, and the overall quality of the work. One reviewer had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Aisah, a professional at Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU specializing in permanent makeup, specifically brow work. This customer described Aisah as "beautiful and wonderful," highlighting her excellent work and meticulous approach. The reviewer noted that Aisah takes her time with both the client and her work, emphasizing her perfectionist nature. The environment of the shop was also praised, with the reviewer describing it as very clean and Aisah's room/space as quiet, private, and clean. The experience was so relaxing that the client reportedly almost fell asleep during the procedure, expressing gratitude and satisfaction with the results and the recommendations that led them to Aisah.

The positive experience with the PMU services suggests that Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU has professionals who are skilled and provide a comfortable, clean, and private environment for these procedures. The emphasis on the artist's perfectionism in the PMU context could be seen as a desirable trait for detailed work requiring precision.

However, a contrasting review details a significant issue with a tattoo experience at the same establishment, involving an artist named Elizabeth. This customer, a professional artist and designer with over 20 years of experience, reported a critical problem with the alignment of a simple line art tattoo. According to the review, a section of the tattoo design was backward, and while the artist made a last-minute adjustment on a tablet, the final application of the stencil appeared crooked to the client. Despite the client pointing this out multiple times, their concerns were allegedly dismissed by the artist and another individual in the shop.

The reviewer recounts a series of attempts by the artist to reapply the stencil, with the client consistently stating that it looked crooked. Eventually, another person in the shop briefly glanced at it and affirmed that it looked fine, leading the client to feel "outnumbered, pressured, and defeated." Despite their strong intuition and professional artistic eye, the client was convinced they were wrong. Unfortunately, upon completion, the tattoo was indeed crooked, a flaw particularly noticeable due to the simple line art design with parallel straight lines. The reviewer attributes this to an incomplete rotation of the design on the tablet when the initial backward section was corrected.

This negative experience raises significant concerns about the attention to detail and the willingness to listen to client feedback regarding tattoo work at Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU. The fact that the client's repeated concerns about the crooked stencil were dismissed, only to be proven correct in the final tattoo, is troubling. It suggests a potential lack of thoroughness in the tattooing process and a possible overreliance on the artist's initial assessment without adequately addressing the client's input.

The client who received the crooked tattoo contacted the artist afterward to address the issue. The artist reportedly offered to "see what she could do," but the client felt that a correction of a permanent tattoo was unlikely. This highlights the irreversible nature of tattoos and the importance of ensuring the design and placement are accurate before the tattooing begins. The reviewer expressed profound disappointment, especially as it was their first tattoo, and regretted not halting the process despite their repeated concerns.

Based on these two contrasting reviews, it's challenging to provide a uniformly positive or negative assessment of Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU. It appears that the quality of service and the attention to detail may vary depending on the specific service (tattoo vs. permanent makeup) and potentially the artist involved. The positive review for PMU services indicates that some professionals at the establishment are highly skilled, meticulous, and provide a clean and comfortable environment.

However, the detailed account of the problematic tattoo experience raises red flags regarding the tattooing process, particularly concerning design accuracy and client communication. For local users considering tattoo services at Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU, it would be prudent to inquire about the specific artist who will be performing the work, review their portfolio thoroughly, and perhaps seek additional testimonials or references specifically for tattoo services. It would also be essential to communicate clearly with the artist about the design and placement and to feel confident that your concerns are being heard and addressed before the tattooing begins.

Given the limited information and the stark contrast between the two reviews, it is difficult to ascertain the typical environment for tattoo services at Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU. The positive PMU review mentions a clean and private room, but there is no equivalent description for the tattoo area. Potential clients may want to visit the studio to assess the environment themselves and discuss hygiene practices with their chosen artist.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in either tattoo or permanent makeup services at Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU should contact them directly to inquire about pricing, artist portfolios, consultation availability, and any ongoing promotions. The address is provided, but a phone number or website is not included in the given information, so an online search for "Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU" might be necessary to find contact details.

In conclusion, Camp Hill Collective Tattoo and PMU offers both tattoo and permanent makeup services in Camp Hill, PA. While one customer experienced excellent PMU services with a meticulous and professional artist in a clean and private setting, another detailed a significant and distressing issue with a crooked tattoo resulting from design and communication problems. Local users considering this establishment should weigh these contrasting experiences and conduct thorough due diligence, including reviewing artist portfolios and ensuring clear communication and confidence in the chosen artist's process before proceeding with any body art service.

This place is amazing! Aisah is a beautiful and wonderful professional. She does excellent work. She takes her time with you and with her work! She is definitely a perfectionist and why would you want anything other than perfection! The shop itself is very clean and her room / space is quiet, private and clean. I’m pretty sure I fell asleep as she worked her magic on my brows! Thank you Aisha for a lovely experience. And so greatful to all who recommended her!

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. A section of the tattoo was backward from the design that I had sent Elizabeth, so at the last minute she adjusted it on her tablet before printing it out. When she applied the print to my ankle I told her that it looked crooked (I have a very good eye, I’ve been a professional artist/designer for 20+ years). She reapplied it. I told her it was still crooked. This went on several times. Then she called someone in and asked them if it looked straight. They glanced briefly and said ‘yep, looks fine’. I think they just assumed the artist was correct and didn’t really look. At that point I felt outnumbered, pressured and defeated with fighting it. They convinced me that I was wrong and it wasn’t crooked. Fast forward to the completed tattoo and it’s CROOKED. It wouldn’t have been that noticeable with a rounded or more complex design, but this was a very simple line art design with two parallel straight lines and one of them is crooked, so it’s very noticeable. Long story short, when she rotated the one section on her tablet, she didn’t rotate 100%. She only rotate probably like 95%, so no matter how many times she moved the print around on my ankle, it was still crooked because the design itself was crooked. She just assumed it was correct and that I was crazy. She should have truly listened to my concern and took the time to look into it. Now, for eternity, I have a crooked tattoo. I’m also angry with myself for not stopping her, but after telling her at least 5 times that it was crooked, and after her moving it 5 times and then having a coworker tell her she was right and that it wasn’t crooked, they made me feel like I was nuts. I think they assumed it was right and there was no need to look closer at it. When I got home and saw how crooked it was, I contacted her and address the issue. She said I could come in and she’d see what she could do... but I know there was nothing she could do. It was done and it’s permanent. Very, very disappointed. This was my first tattoo, too. Wish I could attach a pic.

My second tattoo from Jeff and I leave in complete awe again. I'm obsessing over the line work and perfection of his work. If you are looking for an artist that just nails it every time, Jeff is your guy! The artists here and the environment set a new standard for all shops around and they are untouchable. Thank you all for creating such an awesome spot for all of us! I cant wait to come back.

The service and skill you'll see here is hard to beat. The prices are all very reasonable. Al did an exceptional job both in terms of the quality of the tattoo and the experience while there. I would highly recommend anyone who is seriously interested in getting a tattoo at least check this place out!
