Broken Arrow Tattoo co. Introduce

For local residents in the Dalton, Georgia area seeking body art services through platforms listing "Tattoo Shops Near Me," Broken Arrow Tattoo co., located at 1416 W Walnut Ave, Dalton, GA 30720, USA, presents a complex picture based on the available customer reviews. Contactable at phone number (706) 537-8592 or mobile phone +1 706-537-8592, the studio has received both positive and significantly negative feedback, primarily focusing on the experiences with a tattoo artist named Jared.

One detailed and critical review recounts a deeply negative experience with Jared. The customer initially had a couple of small tattoos done by him a few years prior without issue and subsequently hired him for a large cover-up project. Jared estimated the project would take two sessions and required a $100 deposit, with an hourly rate of $100. During the first four-hour session, for which the customer was charged $500, a misogynistic comment was made by Jared that the reviewer found highly offensive. Although bothered, the customer initially attributed the extra charge beyond the hourly rate to the design process.

Communication to schedule the second session led to the customer expressing their distress over the comment from the first session, which had caused them significant emotional upset. Jared apologized, and the customer decided to give him a second chance. However, the second five-hour session, also costing $500, was marred by Jared repeatedly asking the customer questions about a divisive issue, which felt like he was intentionally trying to provoke a reaction. This led the customer to experience a panic attack, causing them to stop the tattooing process abruptly and leave the room to compose themselves. Despite returning to finish an hour of the session, the customer was left feeling deeply uncomfortable and upset by Jared's behavior. Jared again apologized, admitting he didn't know why he was "poking at" the customer. The tattoo was not completed in the second session, with Jared stating a third session and a short highlight session would be needed, exceeding the initial time estimate.

Further complicating the experience, Jared asked the customer to return three days later to change the second skin, agreeing to a timeframe of 4-5 pm. The customer arrived at 4:55 pm to find Jared absent, causing significant frustration and a loss of temper directed at the front desk staff, for which the reviewer profusely apologized. As the customer was leaving, Jared arrived and allegedly engaged in erratic behavior in the parking lot, which ultimately led the customer to decide not to return for the remaining sessions. Following this, the customer respectfully requested the return of the $100 deposit, which had not been applied to the total cost. Despite multiple attempts via different communication methods, Jared only offered to refund $50, refusing to return the full deposit. The reviewer concluded by stating that Jared's behavior made them feel unsafe and repeatedly terrible, and they believed he should not retain the deposit given the negative and incomplete experience.

In contrast to this highly negative account, another reviewer offered a brief but positive statement, saying, "Jared did an amazing job on my tribute tattoo for my mom. He is very professional!!! I will definitely be back soon for more ink!" This review presents a starkly different perspective on Jared's professionalism and artistic abilities.

Considering these contrasting reviews, local users searching for "Tattoo Shops Near Me" might encounter the following at Broken Arrow Tattoo co., specifically regarding the artist Jared:

  • Artistic Talent: One reviewer acknowledged Jared's artistic talent.
  • Potential for Quality Tribute Tattoos: One customer was highly satisfied with a tribute tattoo done by Jared, describing his work as "amazing" and him as "very professional."
  • Inconsistent Professionalism: Another customer reported highly unprofessional behavior, including misogynistic comments and intentionally провокационные questions leading to a panic attack.
  • Questionable Billing Practices: One reviewer felt overcharged in the first session, although they initially attributed it to design fees.
  • Poor Communication and Reliability: The incident of Jared not being present for a scheduled aftercare appointment and his subsequent parking lot behavior raise concerns about his reliability and communication.
  • Disputes Regarding Deposits: A significant issue arose regarding the return of a deposit for incomplete work, with the artist refusing to refund the full amount.
  • Potential for Emotional Distress: One customer reported feeling unsafe and repeatedly terrible due to their interactions with Jared.

The available information does not provide insights into the environment of Broken Arrow Tattoo co. beyond the interactions with the artist Jared. There are no details regarding the cleanliness of the studio, the overall atmosphere, or the presence and skills of other artists, if any. Similarly, there is no information about the range of tattoo styles offered, pricing structures (beyond Jared's hourly rate), or any promotional offers.

For local users in Dalton, GA, searching for "Tattoo Shops Near Me," Broken Arrow Tattoo co. presents a significant cautionary tale alongside a single positive endorsement for the artist Jared. The stark contrast in experiences suggests a potential inconsistency in professionalism and customer service. Individuals considering this studio may want to weigh the serious concerns raised in the detailed negative review against the positive, albeit brief, feedback. It would be prudent to seek further information, potentially including portfolios of Jared's work and inquiring about studio policies and other artists, before making a decision.

In conclusion, Broken Arrow Tattoo co. in Dalton, GA, has received mixed reviews, with a particularly detailed negative account raising serious concerns about the professionalism, behavior, and billing practices of the artist Jared. While one customer reported a positive experience with a tribute tattoo, the significant issues highlighted in the other review cannot be ignored. For local residents utilizing "Tattoo Shops Near Me" platforms, thorough research and potentially direct communication with the studio to address these concerns would be advisable before choosing Broken Arrow Tattoo co. for their body art needs.

I truly did not want to write this review and gave the artist several opportunities to do the right thing. I am reviewing my experience with the tattoo artist Jared. He has artistic talent, and I wish him the best, but he was not the artist for me and here is why. I got a couple of small tattoos from him a couple years ago with no issues. I hired Jared to do a large cover up. He told me it should take 2 sessions and asked for a $100 deposit that would be put towards the total cost. Also, his rate is $100/hr. During the first session he made a misogynistic comment that rubbed me very much the wrong way. I was so bothered by it that I did not realize that he charged me $500 for 4 hours of work. I was actually okay with that amount going towards the creative process of the design, so I did not mention it. About a week later, we messaged to set up the next session. During this chat, I did tell him how upset I was after the last session. To the point of it keeping me up at night. He apologized and I decided to give him a second chance. During the 2nd session he was asking me questions about a divisive issue. During this conversation, as he was tattooing me, it seemed like he was just trying to get a rise out of me. I could feel a panic attack coming on and I told him to stop tattooing me. I jumped off the table with ink still all over my leg and rushed out of the room. I stood in the front room trying to calm myself and eventually went into a back room to be by myself. I went back into his room, put in my earplugs and got back on the table. For the next hour, I laid there with my arm over my face because I was crying. At the end of the session, he apologized and admitted that he did not know why he was like that and was poking at me. I accepted his apology again but honestly did not know what to think and I paid him $500 for 5 hours although I needed to take a lengthy break due to the panic attack that he induced. He did not finish the tattoo during the second session and told me it would take a third session and another short one for highlights. This was more total time than I thought it would take when I started this process. Jared asked me to come back in 3 days to change the second skin. After discussing his schedule for that day, I told him that I would be there between 4-5p to which he agreed. When I arrived at 4:55p, he was not there. I arranged my long list of things I had to get done that day before leaving town around making sure I arrived when I said I would. I lost my temper at that time, and I sincerely feel bad about that and apologize profusely to the gentleman at the front desk. I was wrong for that. I did recognize that I was too upset to have an adult conversation with Jared, so I left. As I was backing out to leave, Jared pulled into the parking lot. He saw me leaving and for some reason backed out of the space he just pulled into and got right behind me. He sped around me and across traffic to make a U-turn. It was that behavior and loss of temper that made me decide that I would not return. Since that day, I respectfully messaged Jared to return the $100 deposit since it did not go towards the total amount. I reached out via, Messenger, Zelle and text. He did not respond to the first two. Via text, he said, "I'll refund you 50 and call it done. I'm not arguing and that's what I'm willing to do." I informed him that I had already paid him an extra $100 the first day but was okay with that having happened. I asked him to refund the $100 deposit again to which he did not respond. Had he done the honest and right thing by refunding that deposit then that would have been the end of it as far as I would have been concerned. But as it stands, here we are with me writing this review instead. He did not make me feel safe and repeatedly made me feel terrible. I could not continue with Jared, and he should not keep that extra money after everything that happened.
