I had 3 tattoos previously and was looking to expand on one of my existing tattoos that was a heart with boot prints in it outlined with the words,"My Son, my soldier, my hero, Army Mom" in honor of one of our sons who serves in the Army. I saw the work that Mike Harmon had done on our son-in-law and went to meet him at the Black Lotus Gallery located in Cromwell, CT. He met me and my wife without an appointment and talked to us about our options. The Black Lotus Gallery is quite professional and clean. The black interior with gold embellishments gives it a very sleek look. The counters, floors, workspace, and restroom are clean and well kept. There is a couch and a couple of comfortable chairs with a big salt water fish tank to keep anyone visiting comfortable while they wait. Needless to say, we both booked an appointment within a few weeks of our initial visit. When the time came for my appointment, I was super excited to expand on my existing tattoo in honor of my son who is an active Marine. I had envisioned a flag going through the heart with the words, "My Son, my marine, my hero". Mike drew it up and printed the stencil which was a very rough sketch of what the final product would be (see images). He began by positioning the stencil on my arm and allowed me to live stream the process on TikTok while he worked! His tattoo machine itself was super quiet for those with sensory/auditory issues or sheer panic or anxiety! Three hours + later we had a finished product and I couldn't have been happier with the results. His work is amazing and everyone was super friendly and down to earth. I will definitely be going back!

Professional but chill, affordable but amazing service. Mike and Ayelen went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and satisfied with my piercings and jewelry, even when it was just replacing old hoops. Huge thanks to all, and after seeing their portfolios I'll definitely be coming back for some ink.

I’ve had multiples tattoos as well as a piercing done by Mike. When my brother passed away I asked him to design a 1 of a kind tattoo to honor my brother. As wild as an idea that I had, Mike DELIVERED. Always a great, clean, experience!

I live down the road and pass their shop all the time so I checked their IG page. I liked what I saw so I contacted the woman through the contact form on their website (as they request) right after the holidays. It’s now been almost a month and no reply! I have lots of ideas and money to spend and just don’t get why you bother to have contact forms and then ignore potential new business. Very disappointing!

The entire atmosphere of this place is absolutely amazing, the people there make you feel like you have been friends for so long and the art pieces they do at this shop is beautiful, I definitely recommend asking Mike about his skills on playing the pocket piano. Mike has been my tattoo artist for almost 10 years now and can say no matter what style you want to get his artistic mindset is top notched, the prices for any artwork/piercing is fantastic. So if you are planning on getting your first tattoo or going to get your next one I highly recommend the wonderful people at Black Lotus gallery
