Echoing the reviews already here. I had Shannon who brought my dream tattoo into reality after having the idea to do it for the last two years, she was amazing in making any edits and it was really cool that you didn’t see the drawings till you get there, I really appreciate that way of doing it and this whole place just had good vibes with great movies and conversations. 100% worth the trek from VT to come to this studio and have Shannon be the artist who brought it to life!

I worked with Rey as my artist he was super friendly which helped a lot since I was really nervous as hell since this was my first tattoo. Fortunately he was able to come up with an amazing tattoo design that looked great from the references I sent in and the pain wasn’t bad at all. Price was amazing for the work as well will definitely be coming back to fill up the rest of my back. (Also the bathroom is really cool it’s where I took the photo)

Saw Shannon for a pet memorial tattoo. The finished product exceeded all expectations. I cannot say enough great things about the work. She talked me through what she was doing at every step of the way. This was my first tattoo and the studio was a welcoming and friendly place. Nothing intimating about it. Clean environment, everything was sterilized. I highly recommend this shop.

It was my first time receiving a tattoo at this facility. It was very easy to make an appointment which was great. I had my tattoo done by Jay and I am very happy with the work he did! I will be going back for more tattoos in the future:)

The reason for my 2 stars is based on the small interaction I had, I planned on having Manny as my artist and sent several emails to the shop explaining what I’d like, and thinking that the first appointment would be a consultation and then see the drawing and then make an appointment for the actual work to start however I was wrong, I sent my $200 deposit and was told the first appointment we’d be starting the work. I was really confused on how the work is supposed to start on the first appointment without even seeing a drawing prior? It’s been a year and they still have my deposit I didn’t follow through with them and put up argument about a refund because I understand the deposits are not refundable. And don’t get me wrong I’m sure all the artists are wonderful (I’ve seen their portfolios they’re very talented) I’m just used to having a consultation and seeing the work that’s going to be done in case any changes want to be made and both artist and I agree on everything. I also feel like drawing a tattoo on the spot means I’d be charged for that as well. **This is an update from my above review ** Ricky the owner reached out to me and gave me an insight on why they do things the way they do and I’m very pleased with how that went, I will definitely be following through with my original plans in the future with Black Hatchet Tattoo Co.
