Sheila was absolutely wonderful she was very quick & gentle. Piercing was quick & easy. Was expecting to hurt way more than it actually did. I do have to go back the bottom ball fell out already no fault of hers she did warn me ahead of time that it might happen. Would definitely recommend & would go back when I'm ready for another piercing.

Had an amazing experience. The shop has a great atmosphere super clean, welcoming, and professional. All the artists were kind and supportive, making sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process. I got tattooed by Mike, and he absolutely killed it! His attention to detail and skill are on top. I couldn’t be happier with my tattoo! Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for high-quality work and a great experience.

I’ve been getting my tattoos done here since I was 18 and I LOVE each and every tattoo! The artist really work with you and are so patient, creative, talented and really put their heart into everything they create! 10/10 for tattoos Sheila is THE BEST PIERCER I have ever had. She is really amazing with placement and walking you through aftercare! I HIGHLY recommend Big Joe’s for your tattoo and piercing needs!!

I did a walk-in for a lip piercing and was greeted by Sheila. Right off the bat she was so welcoming and friendly, which definitely eased my nerves! She set up super quickly and the whole thing was over before I even knew it. She had a really gentle touch and to be honest the piercing itself didn't even hurt, I think the clamp was worse! Lol. She also answered all my questions without hesitation and walked me through aftercare and next steps very thoroughly. What I honestly appreciated most was her sweet demeanor, I will definitely be coming back for more!

UPDATE: In response to the owner’s idiotic reply: Don’t see why I’d be writing a review, if I wasn’t a paying customer. Also, I am sure you are well aware of the employee I’m referencing. Whether it’s at this location or the Mohegan lake location. Doesn’t matter. As stated, I’ve seen other reviews from other people who have mentioned things about a specific tattoo artist/employee. I’d assume this is the same person. Or if not, I guess you just hire people who lacks all types of common knowledge and basic customer service skills. I’ve gone here maybe 2 or 3 times for a piercing in the past. Never really had any issues. Walked in here today for a simple lobe piercing. I know this is a reputable place, but I don’t care how good you are. You should still be a little more welcoming, courteous, and enthusiastic to your paying customers. If you work with public, this should be common knowledge. So I don’t know if I just got lucky the past few times I went or if this location just has bad staff. But their customer service seems to be shitty. When I walked in, this older guy behind the counter just looked up at me, then looked back down at his laptop. No greeting or common courtesy. I asked if they were able to take me in as a walk in for a piercing. The same guy continued to look down at his laptop and still completely ignore me. I almost walked away, but Nicole, who was actually friendly, responded and took over. She was thorough, kind, and much more approachable. She did a pretty good job on my piercing , so 5 stars to her. Other than that, I probably wouldn’t return for another service if this is how they treat their customers. Looking at other reviews, doesn’t seem like I’m the only one either. Makes me wonder if it’s a race/gender issue (i am a woman/poc) or if it’s just a bunch of arrogant, condescending, dismissive male artists with egos. Either way, I’d keep your money and look elsewhere.
