168 Tattoo Introduce

For local users in search of body art services, particularly those utilizing the platform category "Tattoo Shops Near Me," 168 Tattoo is located at 7017 Kaighns Avenue, NJ-38, Pennsauken Township, NJ 08109, USA. The available reviews present a mixed perspective, highlighting both positive aspects of the studio and raising concerns about aftercare practices and touch-up policies. It is essential for potential clients to consider both sides of the feedback when making an informed decision.

One customer shared a detailed experience that began with high hopes of collaborating with an artist named Rick on a wildlife sleeve. They found Rick to be "truly welcoming, warm, and comforting" and were initially very pleased with two smaller tattoos he completed. However, the experience took a negative turn due to the provided aftercare instructions, which consisted solely of keeping the hands clean and rinsing with warm water and plain soap, with no recommendation for moisturizing. The reviewer expressed skepticism about this method, noting that their previous tattoo artist had always advised moisturizing, and their friends in the tattoo community also found this unusual. Subsequently, the tattoos began to hurt due to the lack of moisture.

After a month and seeking opinions from other tattoo enthusiasts and multiple reputable shops in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the reviewer was informed that both tattoos would need to be completely redone. This led to disappointment, considering the financial investment made. When the reviewer inquired about touch-ups with Rick before seeking external opinions, they were quoted a price of $80 per touch-up. While acknowledging that charging for touch-ups is at the discretion of the shop, the reviewer wished they had been aware of this policy beforehand. Ultimately, this customer expressed sadness that their tattoos needed to be redone, especially as they had hoped to continue working with Rick on a full sleeve.

The same reviewer also provided further clarification in an edit, addressing a public response from the business owner. They emphasized that their intention was not to harm the business's reputation but to share their truthful experience to help inform other potential customers, aligning with the purpose of Google reviews. They disputed the claim of sending an excessive number of texts, clarifying it was a back-and-forth conversation that included sending multiple pictures related to their concerns. While acknowledging Rick's initial kindness in sketching a sleeve design (for which the reviewer offered to pay for a consultation), they pointed out an inconsistency regarding touch-up policies. The reviewer noted that while another Google review mentioned free touch-ups at the shop, they were quoted a fee for theirs. They also clarified that free touch-ups were only offered if they proceeded with the sleeve, which would involve further expense and potentially similar healing issues. Finally, the reviewer defended their right to share their experience, especially after multiple other tattoo shops corroborated their concerns about the tattoos' quality.

In contrast to this negative experience, another customer shared a "great experience" at 168 Tattoo. This reviewer had vague ideas for a memorial tattoo, and the artists were able to translate those ideas into a meaningful design. They specifically praised Rick and Rich as "absolutely awesome," highlighting their friendliness, professionalism, and talent. This positive feedback suggests that 168 Tattoo is capable of delivering excellent results and providing a positive customer interaction.

Considering the platform category "Tattoo Shops Near Me," local users in the Pennsauken Township, NJ area will find that 168 Tattoo presents a mixed picture based on these two reviews. While one customer lauded the friendly and professional artists and their ability to create meaningful memorial tattoos, another detailed significant concerns regarding aftercare instructions leading to poor healing and unexpected costs for touch-ups. Potential clients should weigh these contrasting experiences when considering 168 Tattoo for their body art needs.

Based on the limited information, the services offered at 168 Tattoo include custom tattoo designs, as evidenced by the memorial tattoo described. The presence of multiple artists, Rick and Rich, suggests that different artistic styles may be available. The positive review highlights a friendly and professional environment. However, the detailed negative review raises concerns about the standard aftercare advice provided and the policy regarding touch-up fees. These aspects should be clarified by potential clients before committing to services.

There is no specific promotional information provided in the reviews. The positive review serves as an indirect endorsement of the shop's ability to create satisfying memorial tattoos and the friendly nature of the artists. However, the negative review might deter some potential customers due to the concerns raised about aftercare and touch-up costs.

For local users in Taiwan who might be researching tattoo studios in the Pennsauken Township, NJ area (perhaps for travel or if they have connections there), the feedback for 168 Tattoo is somewhat contradictory. The positive review suggests a welcoming and skilled studio, while the negative review raises important questions about aftercare practices and potential additional costs. It would be advisable for anyone considering this studio to seek further information and clarification on these points.

In conclusion, 168 Tattoo in Pennsauken Township, NJ, presents a mixed profile based on the available customer reviews. While artists Rick and Rich are praised for their friendliness, professionalism, and ability to create meaningful tattoos, significant concerns have been raised regarding the aftercare instructions provided and the cost of touch-ups. Potential local users searching within the "Tattoo Shops Near Me" category should carefully consider both the positive and negative feedback and perhaps seek further clarification on aftercare procedures and touch-up policies before choosing 168 Tattoo for their body art services.

Editing for a few things here since I can’t respond. Normally when I see a response from a business owner like this one to a patron, the owner’s response speaks for itself. But there are a few things I need to clear up: 1. I myself am a small business owner and would NOT be writing this to hurt the reputation of a business. I felt I was taken advantage of in a situation. Google reviews are for the public to make an informed decision about a business which they choose to use or not. I understand it sucks and it hurts to hear that someone is not happy with your product or work, but I am merely telling my truthful experience after I received these tattoos. 2. I have no problem with communication but Rick already lost my trust and I had a feeling he may get defensive. I’m glad I trusted my intuition. 3. I didn’t send Rick over “25 texts”. This was a back and forth conversation. I did send multiple pictures 4. On his own volition, Rick drew up a sketch sleeve for me which was incredibly kind. I offered to pay for a sleeve consultation. 5. For some reason, Rick states in one of his other Google reviews that the shop does touchups for free. But I would have had to pay for mine. 6. Rick did not say that if I get “another tattoo” he would do my touchups for free, he said that if we start on my sleeve touchups would be free, which would most likely be even more money plus put me in a situation like the one I’m in now with the 2 pieces I have. 7. This tattoo artist is clearly talented and I’m not sure how I would damage any reputation as I have no influence over the tattoo world. 8. After calling and talking to multiple tattoo shops, all of them said the same exact thing to me about my tattoos from Rick. And it’s not just my hand tattoo that is faded, it’s the snake on my forearm that is typically an easy healing spot and I know this because I have a tattoo on my other arm in the same spot. —————— First, let me start off by saying I was SO excited about working with Rick on a wildlife sleeve and it honestly breaks my heart to be writing this since I thought I had found my perfect artist. He is truly welcoming, warm, and comforting. He tattooed 2 separate smaller pieces on me, both which looked fantastic after he completed them. I was skeptical of not receiving aftercare instructions except to keep my hands clean as possible and to rinse with warm water and plain soap. Eventually the tattoos started to hurt because there was no moisture on them besides the warm water method of healing. I personally have never heard my previous tattoo artist state to not moisturize, and my friends were really confused when I told them what the healing method was for 168 Tattoo. I knew this was Rick’s method he recommended for healing. It’s now been a full month and after receiving opinions from people into tattoos, plus multiple reputable shops in NJ and PA, I’m being told from numerous shops and friends that both tattoos have to be completely redone. I’m disappointed since this is a lot of money that I spent on these tattoos. When I asked him about doing touchups before I reached out to other tattoo shops, he told me that the touchups on his art would cost $80. I know charging for touchups are up to the discretion of the shop but I wish I knew this prior to getting these tattoos done as well. Overall I’m just sad that these tattoos will need to be redone when I thought I found my artist for my sleeve.

Great experience at this shop! I gave them some vague ideas about what I wanted and they were able to turn those designs into the memorial tattoo I was looking for. Rick and Rich are absolutely awesome! They're very friendly and professional. They're both also incredibly talented. I highly recommend this shop if you're looking for your first or a new tattoo.

Worth the drive!! The whole team here is incredible and the shop itself is a sight to behold. Great flash offerings, and also has the talent to handle much larger and intricate pieces. Can't say enough good things about 168!

Not only did Rich do an amazing job turning my amateur mock up of my idea into a beautiful work of art, but he covered an 11 year old tattoo with ease! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it! He also worked quickly but didn’t sacrifice quality in the process and the pricing was also great! I would definitely recommend coming here and I’m so glad others recommended him to me!
